We have a digital streaming service for rushes viewing on productions based overseas or remote locations. Blade, has proved an unrivaled way of rushes being viewed across the globe within hours of being processed.

Using the Ascent Media Blade server, we are able to distribute DVD quality daily rushes to users worldwide in a fraction of the time compared to tape based delivery. When used to replace tape formats for viewing and approval copies on overseas shoots, we can encode rushes, upload them to the secure Blade website ready for distribution and have instantly viewable proxy files and thumbnails all in place before the next plane to the location has left London.

Access to the Blade website via a dedicated 2 megabit/sec broadband connection will give the end user the ability to download files in less than running time. In addition, they’ll be able to view the lower resolution proxy file in the background as the download takes place.

In areas where the connection bandwidth is restricted, we can tailor the encoding compression to arrive at a compromise between image quality and download times.
